Kashmir Will Never Become Part of Pakistan: Farooq Abdullah

J&K : In the wake of a recent terror attack in Gulmarg, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah delivered a resolute message, asserting that Jammu and Kashmir will never become a part of Pakistan. This statement comes amidst a spate of violence that has claimed innocent lives and heightened tensions in the region.

During his address on Friday, Abdullah emphasized the urgent need to address the ongoing cycle of violence, stating, “These attacks will not stop until a solution to this problem is found.” Drawing from his extensive experience over the past 30 years, he lamented the loss of innocent lives, questioning the motives behind such acts of terror. “We will never become a part of Pakistan. So why are they doing this? Is it to ruin our future?” he asked, highlighting the futility of violence and the pressing need for peace.

Abdullah’s comments extended beyond the immediate context of the attacks, calling out Pakistan’s role in fostering terrorism in the region. He urged the neighboring country to redirect its focus towards its own development and stability. “Khud barbaad ho rahe hain aur hume bhi saath barbaad kar rahe hain,” he said, translating to “Pakistan is destroying itself and dragging us down as well.”

In a plea for diplomatic engagement, Abdullah called on Pakistan to abandon its path of terrorism and seek friendship instead. He warned that if Pakistan continues down this road, it will face severe consequences. His remarks resonate with the sentiments of many in Jammu and Kashmir who long for peace and stability, and underscore the complexities of the region’s geopolitical landscape.

The former Lok Sabha MP’s firm stance against terrorism and his unwavering belief in Kashmir’s rightful place within India reflect the larger narrative of a region caught in a cycle of violence and political strife. As the local population grapples with the realities of insecurity, Abdullah’s message serves as a call for unity and a reminder that the path to peace requires collaboration and understanding.

In conclusion, Farooq Abdullah’s powerful declaration following the Gulmarg terror attack underscores the pressing need for a comprehensive solution to the ongoing conflict in Jammu and Kashmir. His emphasis on rejecting violence and advocating for constructive dialogue may provide a pathway toward a more peaceful and prosperous future for the region.
